Would you like to refer a client/patient for help with a disability claim?

ATTORNEYS

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to refer your patient!

–Why Refer Your Clients to an Attorney Focused on Disability Litigation?

We often receive calls from lawyers handling catastrophic injury cases, automobile accidents claims, work related accidents, and medical malpractice cases for clients who have been injured and cannot work. We are experienced at handling the nuances of Social Security Disability Claims and Long Term Disability Claims – ERISA and non-ERISA. Often serious mistakes in representation can be avoided by an early referral. Unfortunately, we have seen too many cases where a benevolent attorney trying to help a disabled client deal with his/her insurance company unknowingly acted adverse to their clients’ claims. We will handle your clients with care and honor the relationship you have with them. On certain cases, we can pay a referral fee; this can be discussed of course. Your client deserves representation by an attorney who understands disability insurance, ERISA, and Social Security.

– Why Refer Your Patient to Atkins & Associates for assistance?

Successful representation on a disability claim impacts an individual’s life in many ways.  In addition to the obvious financial relief and stress reduction, your patient may gain COBRA continuation, Medicare or Medicaid.

COBRA Extensions and Medicare and/or Medicaid Entitlement. If your patient is unable to work due to disability, your patient’s ability to pay for continued medical treatment may be in serious jeopardy.  The State of Georgia allows for only 3 months of continuation of medical coverage after the termination of employment if COBRA continuation is not applicable.  If your patient is eligible for COBRA his/her medical benefits will only continue for 18 months unless entitlement to Social Security Disability is established within the first 18 months of COBRA allowing for an extension of COBRA for an additional 11 monthsAfter 29 months, Medicare entitlement commences, if your patient is found eligible for Social Security Disability (SSDI) Benefits.  If your patient has low income and resources, then the patient may be eligible for Medicaid through SSI disability which also triggers Medicaid entitlement concurrent with the start of SSI disability.  Thus, disability entitlement is important for continued medical care.
